“We intend to initiate a process that we hope will lead to a reconfiguration of North American Lutheranism,” said Paull Spring, chair of Lutheran CORE and the retired bishop of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Synod. “The convocation is for all who care for the future shape of orthodox Lutheranism.” (more…)

Pastors and Politicians

Should pastors be politicians? With what most of us think about politicians, we would probably have to say pastors wouldn’t make successful politicians. Most of us believe politicians are always lieing to us to get a vote, Oddly enough many politicans are men of the cloth. So does that make these politicians honest or pastors a lie.

Lord At Your Door

Posted under God's Poetic Stage by Spiritual_positive on Friday 18 September 2009 at 2:58 pm

LORD AT YOUR DOOR

What would you do if the LORD came to your house as a homeless man today.
Would you welcome Him in or send Him on his way.

Would you let Him set in your favorite chair and give Him food and drink.
Maybe you would just say to Him I have to go I hear my cell phone ring.

Would you tell Him that you love Him and are thankful for the day.
Maybe you would just close the door and walk away.

What if your children saw Him and asked, what happen to your hands.
If you never told them, they wouldn’t understand.

Would you find the dusty Bible wherever it may be.
Maybe you would place it on a nearby table for Him to see.

I hope if the LORD comes to my house my heart will let me know.
The person who saved my soul from sin is standing at my door.

a lot of times we are looking for someone to bless us as Christians. Maybe because we are saved we believe people are suppose to bless us not us blessing them. So, are we someone else’s blessing. Can we accomplish as much blessing as we can being blessed.

“We’re supposed to be revolutionaries. And that’s odd that that sounds odd in this world but it’s because the church has embraced the status quo instead of embracing what Jesus Christ brought into this world which was revolution.”
That was the core message Pastor Brad Powell of Northridge Church tried to get across to fellow church leaders around the world within a short time frame of nine minutes.

He addressed a purely online audience on Wednesday during “The Nines” conference that featured back-to-back nine-minute video messages from renowned and lesser known communicators and pastors.

The virtual conference, organized by Leadership Network and Catalyst, drew over 20,000 participants throughout the daylong event. (more…)
