What God Says About Depression

Posted under God,Health and Wellness,Uncategorized, church, contemporary, gospel, spiritual by lazarus1877 on Sunday 21 March 2010 at 9:31 pm

Many scriptures discuss depression and other problems concerning the mind and problems that cause us to feel down.  I want to address one particular scripture this evening.  Psalm 42:11 [show]Psalm 42:11 [11]Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

Open Link in New Window states, “Whay art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.” (more…)

New Day – New Lesson!!

Posted under God,Health and Wellness, relationship, spiritual by slovak on Thursday 3 September 2009 at 11:39 pm

My momma always told me that every person on this earth has a purpose under God – He will use each of us for the Greater Good.  That was when I was a young teenager and I am not sure that I really believed it then.  I had to grow into my beliefs….if that makes any sense!  Now, I am 42 years old and truly understand what she meant.  We all have a purpose to fulfill in God’s eyes and we are given opportunities each and every day to do just that.  However, those opportunities are sometimes hidden and you may not realize that you passed up an opportunity until later.  I have learned a very important lesson because of situations just like what I spoke of…There is no wrong time to pray for someone, there is no wrong time to say “I’m sorry” or “I was wrong” or “I haven’t been here for you like I should be but, Im here now”  If we love each other as God loves us, then we have all fulfilled someone’s need!

That being said, I would like to tell this story about my husband.  Several years ago, John came home one afternoon and started gathering shirts, pants, jackets and putting them in a sack.  He told me that he saw a man sitting outside the grocery store who had rags for clothes and looked as though he hadn’t had a good meal in quite a while.  He said that when he saw this man again, he wanted to give him the clothes to help him out in some way.  A few days later, he saw him again, sitting on the same bench, in front of the same store.  He was unclean, unshaven, holes in his clothes and his shoes and he was picking up cigarette butts from the sidewalk and smoking them.  John stopped his truck and got out and went over to the man and pulled $40 out of his wallet, which was all he had at the time, and he gave it to the man.  He said that the man didn’t want to take it at first, almost like he was ashamed, but John insisted that he take it.  He told him that it wasn’t much but maybe it could help some.  The man finally took it, thanked John, and went inside the store.  John got back into his truck and went on about his day.  He told me about what happened that day when he came home from work.  I was so proud to call him my husband!!   A few days turned into a few weeks and finally one day, John told me that he hadn’t seen that man again since the day he gave him the money and he had been wondering if he was OK.  I had a feeling that day and I still have it today – I believe that John encountered an angel…one that was sent here to test our compassion and generosity toward those who are less fortunate.  Once fulfilling his purpose, he went back where he belonged and reported his experience to God.  I believe that was one of my husband’s test from God and he passed with flying colors!!!

I may never encounter an angel but, I know there are people everywhere who need a kind word or a hug or maybe just a smile!!  I pray that I can offer it to them in a way that is pleasing until Him.

Forgiveness and Unforgiveness

Posted under God,Health and Wellness, church, contemporary, gospel, relationship, spiritual by church_girl on Friday 28 August 2009 at 7:59 am

We as christians or the world in general

seems to have a hard time with this one

word!  A lot of  times we rather hold on to

what a person has done to us rather than

let it go and forgive them!  I know we will

never forget what someone has done to us

but with Gods help we can forgive them!

Remember if we can’t forgive our brothers

and sisters, how do we expect our Heavenly

Father to forgive us for all our wrongs!  I am

glad that my God is a God of A Second Chance!

He forgives time after time after time!  Thank

You Father!!!!!  It’s not good to hold

unforgiveness in our hearts because it will

began to eat at us like cancer, causing more

damage than one would think!  So let it go

and let God be God in our lives!!!  Be Blessed!

The Story of Me, Multiple Sclerosis, and MonaVie!!!!

Posted under God,Health and Wellness by slovak on Thursday 20 August 2009 at 10:52 am

I was diagnosed with M.S. in 2004.  I had just started a new job and was trying to do the best that I could…even though I felt that something was wrong!  I had worked for three months, just long enough to be eligible for the company insurance (THANK GOD), when my doctor gave me the news!!  I was put on short-term disability for three months and tried to go back when that time period was over.  It didn’t last long – I had no choice but to stop working.  The fatigue, depression, and inability to concentrate was so intense that I could not fulfill my job duties.  From that time until 4 months ago, I have gone thru a very challenging battle physically, emotionally and spiritually!  I prayed that God would help me to feel better and to be better – a better wife, mother, friend, Christian but, I “was in my own way” – I believe!  I had gotten about as low as a person could get…staying in bed most of the time, crying, avoiding everyone and feeling terrible in every way that a person could!  I believe that through my desperate cries to God, praying so intensely for help…that he showed me the way thru MonaVie!  I know how insane it sounds – that a man-made product could change someone’s life so intensely – but, it happened to me!  I started drinking the juice and on the 5th day, I was more energetic, my depression was fading, I was laughing and looking forward to the future…something that I had not done in so long!!  MonaVie makes no claims to being a cure or a substitute for medication.  It is made of 19 fruits and berries that are grown in the Amazon rainforest and it puts back into your body what our environment has taken away!  This product helped me to “get out of my own way” and let my body do what it was designed to do!!

I give God all of the glory for helping me to feel better!  I believe that this earth has always been God’s garden and sometimes, we have to “get out of the way” and let Him do his work!  Then, we can enjoy the fruits of HIS labors!!!

If you would like to try MonaVie, please let me know!!!  It would be a blessing to do for others what has been given to me!!!  GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Coenzyme Q 10

Posted under Health and Wellness by Spiritual_positive on Sunday 16 August 2009 at 10:22 pm

Coenzyme Q10 (also known as ubiquinone, ubidecarenone, coenzyme Q, and abbreviated at times to CoQ10 – pronounced like “ko-cue-ten” –, CoQ, Q10, or simply Q) is a 1,4-benzoquinone, where Q refers to the quinone chemical group, and 10 refers to the isoprenyl chemical subunits.

This oil-soluble vitamin-like substance is present in most eukaryotic cells, primarily in the mitochondria. It is a component of the electron transport chain and participates in aerobic cellular respiration, generating energy in the form of ATP. Ninety-five percent of the human body’s energy is generated this way.[1][2] Therefore, those organs with the highest energy requirements—such as the heart and the liver—have the highest CoQ10 concentrations.[3][4][5]

The oxidized structure of CoQ10 is shown on the top right. The various kinds of Coenzyme Q can be distinguished by the number of isoprenoid side-chains they have. The most common CoQ in human mitochondria is Q10. The 10 refers to the number of isoprene repeats. The image below has three isoprenoid units and would be called Q3. (more…)

When God & cancer meet-Dave’s Story

Posted under God,Health and Wellness, gospel, relationship, spiritual by Spiritual_positive on Saturday 15 August 2009 at 2:00 am

On 11/15/07 I woke up like any other day. It was payday so I went to go run some usual payday errands. I had got a CAT Scan done the previous day due to having reoccurring headaches for almost a month. I didn’t think to much of it. I figured I would just go back to the doctor and he would tell me that my blood pressure had increased. But oh no, When I got home there was a message from my doctor and also his nurse telling me to call back ASAP. That terrified me, I had never really been sick besides a flu or cold here and there. Should Men Be Taking Men’s Supplements?

In recent years, both research on and the availability of vitamin supplements has increased, drawing increased attention to the possibility that a daily pill can enhance health.

In particular, it is a message that is resounding with men. According to the Council for Responsible Nutrition, 53 percent of American adults take a multivitamin supplements, and 50 percent of adult men 18 and older take a multivitamin, according to a 2008 survey.

The latest product to enter the crosshairs of a watchdog group is Bayer’s One A Day Men’s Health Formula supplements, which are promoted as containing “Selenium to support a healthy prostate.” (more…)
