Why I Chose You

Posted under relationship by Spiritual_positive on Monday 22 February 2010 at 8:19 pm

After many years of marriage, a lot of couples tend to throw in the towel. They feel that their marriage isn’t intresting enough. They need something new. They feel that going their seperates ways is better than the many years invested. I wonder if they remembered “Why I chose you.” If we would take a trip in time we would remember how spectacular our spouse is. I wonder what struggling marriages think about the question “why I chose you?”

Marriage more stable than cohabitation, research

Posted under relationship by Spiritual_positive on Monday 22 February 2010 at 8:04 pm

Cohabitation is a less stable form of relationship today than it was 15 years ago and particularly for couples with children, says relationships charity The Jubilee Centre.

A fresh analysis of national data by the centre shows that cohabitations are rarely a long term lifestyle choice and the vast majority last only a short time before being converted into marriage or dissolving. (more…)

Love Dare Site Invites Real Couples to Share Stories

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, fans of bestselling book The Love Dare from the hit film “Fireproof,” can now share with the Christian community how the book has changed their marriage.
“This new community network lets people meet and interact in an online space just for them,” said Andrea Dennis, B&H marketing manager, in a statement. “Couples or individuals create their own user profiles and share their own Love Dare stories both through written journals and, what has us most excited, a new video blog.”

The Love Dare is a book of daily devotions for couples that ends each day with a “dare” for each partner to act out what the Bible teaches towards their spouse. The book is based on the film “Fireproof,” where fireman Caleb Holt (played by Kirk Cameron) is asked by his father to take a 40-day marriage challenge before moving forward with divorce proceedings to end his seven-year marriage to wife Catherine (played by Erin Bethea).

Through The Love Dare, Holt is able to change his attitude about his wife from “how she fails me” to “what I can do, through Christ, to love and support her.” The movie ends with the couple reconciling and committing their lives to Christ.

The Love Dare has sold more than 3 million copies in 27 languages and is a New York Times bestseller.

Those behind the new Love Dare video blog hope the individual stories posted online can serve to encourage other couples around the world.

“People read this book and want to talk,” said Dennis. “The idea is to meet and talk to others who have taken the Love Dare – to encourage, share ideas, and hold one another accountable.”

A WIFE OF NOBLE CHARACTER WHO CAN FIND? SHE IS WORTH FAR MORE THAN RUBIES.HER HUSBAND HAS FULL CONFIDENCE IN HER AND LACKS NOTHING OF VALUE.SHE BRINGS HIM GOOD,NOT HARM,ALL THE DAYS OF HER LIFE. (PROVERBS 31:10-12)—————-NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE TRUE VALUE OF A WOMAN.NEVER UNDERESTIMATE HOW MUCH A MAN WILL APPRECIATE HER IF SHE’S ON HER MARK.ITS FUNNY BECAUSE HER LOOKS ARE NEVER MENTION IN DISSERTATION ON THE PROVERBS 31 WOMAN,BUT HER QUALITIES ARE. SHE IS CALLED MANY THINGS:–NOBLE, VIRTUOUS(MEANS EXCELLENT), VALUABLE, A  SAFE HAVEN, AN ORGANIZER, A HOMEMAKER, A HARDWORKER, SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSWOMAN, KIND, GRACIOUS , GIVING, NURTURING, INSPIRING, THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. AND AFTER PRAISING ALL OF HER VIRTUES, HER HUSBAND BLESSES HER. HER CHILDREN BLESS HER. SHE WAS NOT SUPERWOMAN, BUT SHE WAS BLESS IN THE EYES OF GOD AND HER FAMILY. SUBMISSION PUTS YOU IN THE POSITION TO BE BLESSED, TO GET WHERE YOU WANT TO GO IN LIFE, AND  AVOID NEEDLESS COLLISIONS. TO SUBMIT TO YOUR HUSBAND IS TO SUBMIT TO CHRIST.———-BE BLESS

Exercise Your Spiritual Muscles and Become Spiritually Fit

Have you ever pondered on how spiritually fit or mature you are? The bible gives us indicators of how we ought to live as Christians. But somewhere down the line, we get confused on what it means to mature in Christ or be spiritually fit.

Perhaps you are one of those who believe that because you attend church is evidence of your maturity or an indicator of your spiritual development. But this is simply not so. It’s like saying that because you go to your local gym means you will have a svelte, toned and fit body even though all you do there is catch up with friends, sit in the sauna and just goof around without actually doing any tangible exercises. And even if you do some exercise, it may not get you to your desired goal.

Please hear me, I believe church plays a vital role in our Christian development. (more…)
